Can ham turn different colors if it has gone bad? There was some lunch meat in my fridge from last week and we didn't have anything else so I just used it. But I noticed the edges of some of it were turning a grayish/green color. And the ham tasted pretty bad, it actually tasted like turkey. I ate it all this week. Could it have been spoiled ham? Is that possible? And is it possible for the ham to turn a grayish color? I won't get sick, will I? I've had food poisoning before and its not fun at all.

When in doubt - throw it out. This sounds like ham that went bad. If you've been eating it all week and haven't suffered you're probably good... but next time the ham doesn't look like ham or taste like ham... don't take chances with it. Would you eat moldy bread? Rotten eggs? Then why eat gray ham that tastes like turkey, ya know?

When it goes bad it will turn greyish - so yes, that was bad meat you ate. You may or may not get sick...you probably would have gotten sick by now since you have eaten it all week, so I think you are off the hook. Lunchmeat only lasts one week, so don't buy more than you can eat in a week.

Well.....first off.......There is a possiblility of it being spoilt.

I mean...come on.....when you cook luncheon meat it isnt SUPPOSED to turn grayish right??
So maybe you ate stale OR Bad spam.

Also.....its a possiblity that you COULD get sick. SOme people eat stale food and still don't get sick. Some people get sick the very instant. So it all matters to your body.
IIf it chooses to stay gealthy it will....if not.....food poising could be a possiblity...^^
