If you had to Survive on nothing more than...?
10 items (fruits, vegetables, herbs, etc) what would they be?
I am not looking for flavor, rather I am looking for sustenance, and nourishment.
Why did you chose these items?
There are some answers for your reference as below, you can choose your best answers
Kidney beans (protein)
Bananas (potassium)
Oranges (vitamin C)
Broccoli (vitamin K)
Tomatoes (anti oxidants)
Barley (grains)

Corn (digestive aid)
Chick Peas (protein)
Green Peas (iron)
Good question!

3- Bananas (I like the taste of them and they are a good source of potassium)

White beans
Nuts or nut butters
Fruits, lamb, steak, veggie, and women
Canned potatoes, canned tomatoes, oranges, lemons, canned or dried peaches and other fruits, dried beans, dried grains, nuts and seeds, vegetable soup, various herbs,...
Buckwheat groats can be eaten raw or cooked and are high in protein...as are nuts and seeds.
I don't think I can keep it at 10...I am working at canning and making a survival stash myself. I have heard there is a way to use an attachment to food saver to suck the air out of mason jars to store dry grains and beans to keep bugs out. One lady in these links below also cans them dry in the oven in mason jars...sometimes with a bay leaf inside.. I want to try that.
I have so far canned potatoes that I peeled, cut into chunks and cooked and put into mason jars with fresh salt water (1 tsp. salt per quart and a squirt of lemon juice)..water bath canned for 1 hour...supposed to pressure can, but I am too chicken so far. Also canned some vegetable soup and some dandelion jelly. Bought some various grains and beans at the health food store, some can be dry canned (or cooked and canned) and some can be saved for seeds if necessary (unheated).
Invest in a grain/flour mill, water bath canner, pressure cooker/canner and buy some Mason jars either at the store new or at a thrift store and buy the lids new.
Here is some interesting info I found...

Dandelions are high in iron and can be used in a salad as young fresh greens and flower buds, as wilted greens in vinegar (even canned), or in dandelion jelly or other recipes. They are easy to "grow" or forage...just get them where they are not spray with chemicals.
You could probably forage for nuts and seeds in wooded areas if you had to.
Human urine is high in nitrogen and "free" garden fertilizer that can be used if you dilute it with about 10 cups of water. It is sterile.
milk, pork, chicken, lettuce, italian salad dressing, potatoes, bananas, tomatoes, pasta, grapes
I can make tons of things with just the ingerdients listed, plus I like all of them as is.
