Refrigerating Friendship Bread??
I know you aren't supposed to refrigerate the Amish Frienship Bread starter, but during the summer months my kitchen gets so hot that it dies. Is it at all possible to be able to put it into the refrigerater? If so, how often do I need to feed it?
Thank you for any and all help.
There are some answers for your reference as below, you can choose your best answers
I don't know about that but I know you can freeze the 1 c starter.........then add to it as recipe calls for
can't you store it in another room or maybe a closet away from the hot kitchen or basement if you have one
Amish Friendship Bread is a genuine starter bread. It's a special starter in powder form that can be activated with flour and water. Don't use metal spoons or equipment. Do not refrigerate. Use only glazed ceramic or plastic bowls or containers.

What the hell is an Amish Friendship Bread (bread starter)????
The only thing I can think of is to maybe put it in a dark room or closet.
Hope it helps. :-)
