i know it's alcohol but whats so good about it and how strong is it and why is it illegal????? please help cuz it's really bothering me

You can't buy real absinthe in the US because of it's hallucinogenic effects. The stuff you get in the US tastes like black licorice and it's nasty in my opinion. Wormwood has LSD type effects and that is the main ingredient in absinthe...which is why it is illegal. It's fairly strong but I couldn't get drunk off it because I hate black licorice! I took one sip and threw the rest of the drink out...ended up giving the rest of the bottle away.

Its made with herbs, namely wormwood which is very toxic and has hallucinogenic properties. It is pretty strong.
