Probably because advertising works. I do not like Outback's steaks, they are too plain. It's so hard to find a good steak in a restaurant. The only steaks I was impressed with was a T-bone at the "Texas Grillhouse" in LaVale, MD; and a fantastic ribeye at "Lucky's" in Imlay City, MI. Otherwise, I think mine at home are the best. Not to mention I can buy a large ribeye for $9 at the grocery store instead of $30 at a restaurant.

when i hear steak i think of my daddys bbq with a good seasoning on it lol =]
but where i live they can have some good steaks at out back. but thats my opion lol

That's funny....when I hear "steak" I think of that line from Deuce Bigelow when he goes to that obese woman's house and she says "Did you say steak!?"

Its because of Advertising. They have a jingle & song to go with it when you see those commericals on TV. Personally, I don't really Outback the steak isn't that great. For the same price of a meal you can go to the store & buy the those quality fresh cut ribeye steak, season it & grill it at home. You have more for your money & its even better than any resturants out there. I'm getting hungry here.

I went to my Outback once for lunch! There were closed and only served dinner! I figure that if they can't be open when I want; they definitely won't get my money! I am pretty much a customer service kind of a guy! I live in Florida and also refuse to dine at the places that are only open for the tourist season. So no I don't think Outback, my steaks are much better!

I don't know anyone who DOES assume Outback! Maybe that's the most popular steakhouse in YOUR area.... I like Texas Roadhouse much better. Their steaks are really good, and it's only $8.99 for a small sirloin, with a salad and 2 sides (which is cheaper than you can make it for!) ... Bennigan's has an awesome steak too, with Angus glaze....
