Mystery cake recipe

Mystery cake

     This recipe comes from an old friend and
her recipes have appeared before in my
column, Velma Seaton of Lompoc.

1/2  cup butter
1    cup sugar
2    eggs
1    cup tomato juice
2    cups flour
1/2  cup chopped nuts
1    tsp. soda
1    tsp. cinnamon
1/2  tsp. cloves
1/2  tsp. nutmeg
1    cup raisins

     Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.  Add
beaten eggs and mix.  Add tomato juice
alternately with sifted dry ingredients.  Add
raisins and nuts.  Blend well.  Bake in 375
degree oven about 1 3/4 hours.  Cool then frost
with.....
